Once the orthodontic treatment is completed. The retention phase of orthodontic treatment begins which lasts for a minimum of 2 years.
Retainers must be worn routinely in order to hold your teeth in place while your gums, ligaments & bones adapt to their new positions.
Retainers are placed with a bonded wire on the backside of the lower anterior teeth & thus are esthetically compatible. Fixed retainers make sure that your teeth do not move as long as it stays bonded in place.
Once permanent retainers are put in these cannot be forgotten, misplaced, or outgrown.
At Dr. Sachdeva's Dental Institute we also bond permanent retainers in spacing, severe rotations or mobile teeth due to loss of periodontal support.
